Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
​The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible to implement patient treatment plans as outlined by the physical therapist or physical therapy assistant.  The Trainer will work in conjunction with other team professionals to provide patient care, provide education for patients and their families, and assist with discharge planning.  The Trainer may be asked to assist with orientation of new employees or with the supervision of students. The Trainer will also carry out other departmental duties as assigned. The Trainer must have the ability to work cooperatively with doctors, other staff members, patients, and their families with dignity, courtesy, and respect. The Trainer will provide services to the sports community in the capacity of an educator and an injury evaluator to assist the athlete to respond to the optimal recovery status. The Trainer must have the ability to work closely with other professionals, such as physicians and physical therapists, within a stressful situation to provide appropriate patient care.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a health related field required. ​Must be a graduate of an accredited Athletic Training Program. Experience in rehabilitation desired.
Must have good interpersonal skills, use good judgment, have good problem solving skills, show initiative and have a willingness to work as a team member demonstrating courtesy and empathy toward others.
Valid and active ATC licensure in appropriate state
Valid and active National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) certified member in good standing
